MEMBER CODE OF CONDUCT

At DISTRICT, we strive to provide a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all members and staff. To ensure that everyone enjoys their experience, we ask all members to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

Core DISTRICT Etiquette

  1. Be Tidy: Please return weights and equipment to their proper place after use, and wipe down machines and benches after use with the provided cleaning materials.

  2. Be Caring: Wait your turn for equipment and be mindful of time limits during peak hours. Allow others to work with you in between sets if you are doing similar workouts.

  3. Be Healthy: Adhere to good hygiene practices within the gym to ensure a comfortable and healthy environment for all. This includes using deodorant, wearing clean gym attire, and staying home if you are not feeling well.

  4. Be Cool: Avoid loud or disruptive behavior that could negatively affect the experience of other members. Treat everyone regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or disability with respect.

  5. Be Safe: Weights should NOT be dropped from above the knees unless you are failing a rep. Read all instructions on machinery, or ask a staff member if you need help!

  6. Be Respectful: Our gym is truly in a brownstone - and we want to make sure our neighbors are comfortable. This means respecting the property, and not loitering or making loud noise when entering or exiting the gym.

Respect for Others

Treat all members and staff with respect, kindness, and dignity.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or disability.
Resolve any conflicts or disagreements with calm and constructive communication.

Personal Belongings and Safety

Use lockers provided for storing personal belongings. District is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Ensure that your belongings do not create hazards or obstruct pathways and equipment for others.

Prohibited Conduct

Sexual harassment of any kind towards members or staff is strictly prohibited. This includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature.
Theft of any kind, including the theft of personal belongings of members or gym property, is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with utmost severity, potentially involving law enforcement.
Do not willingly bring non-members to the gym  - only members and staff, including those signed up for a class or personal training session - may enter the building.

Reporting Issues

If you witness behavior that contradicts our Code of Conduct, or if you feel harassed or uncomfortable due to the actions of others, please report this to our staff immediately by speaking with a present staff member or by calling 347-404-4044. We are committed to taking appropriate action to ensure our gym remains a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

Compliance and Disciplinary Actions

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, suspension, or termination of membership, depending on the severity of the violation.

DISTRICT reserves the right to modify this Code of Conduct at any time to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all members and staff.
